Company Background
In 1990, Sunset Crest community leaders created a non-profit company whose members assumed responsibility for the Beach Club, parks and common lands.
These communal assets had been handed over to the Sunset Crest property owners from BS&T, the original developer. On January 28, 1994 the Sunset Crest Property Owners Inc. (“SCPO”) was officially incorporated under the Companies Act of Barbados.
The nature of the business is listed as a “Non-profit Association of Property Owners for fostering and embracing the social fabric and physical infra-structure of the communities of Sunset Crest and Sunset Ridge and preserving/maintaining the historical Holetown area as part of the Barbadian heritage.”

On Saturday March 25, 1995, SCPO held its first Annual General Meeting at Sunset Crest Beach Club. The AGM minutes reflect a Board committed to their community and a vision of the future of Sunset Crest as a great place to live with a sound economic base. It was during this period that SCPO developed the Chattel House Village, Just Grillin’, tennis courts, and the Beach Club.

We now have a well-functioning management office at the Beach Club, our grounds team actively restores and maintains our parks and green belts, we have ongoing security, and we are now more engaged in the Holetown Community beyond Sunset Crest. From our joyful social activities organized by the SCPO committees to resource management by our hard-working Board, manager and office staff, Sunset Crest remains in capable and dedicated hands through SCPO.
SCPO entered into various leases with third parties to earn income from the common assets. This income, along with the annual subscription fees paid by property owners, covers the running costs of the company. This is an ongoing process.

In addition to commercial leases, SCPO counts on property owners' dues to keep our community vibrant, well-maintained and ever-more valuable. Being a non-profit agency with a volunteer Board of committed homeowners, we are fiscally careful with every penny of income we receive from owner dues.
